my dad would rarely talk about things like this, but
he used to tell me stories about WW2. one of them was about a cadence they
would sing while marching around various parts of europe. as he would sing
it:
"praise the lord, and pass the
ammunition, praise the lord, and pass the ammunition, praise the lord, and
pass the ammunition, and we'll all be saved"
That served as the basis for this song. i'm not sure
where we went wrong; we used to be on the right path, but i'm not sure
anymore. it used to be for the "right" reasons-- or at least "right-ish"
reasons, but somewhere we got off track. we aren't fighting for freedom and truth anymore.
we're simply fighting for $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
This song belongs in something like THE
HUNGER GAMES score, don't you think? what does it make you think about?
